La Qi - collecting Qi

La Qi is the most important Zhineng Qigong technique when it comes to collecting external Qi or Qi energy emissions, used in recommendations. In fact, every move of the Peng Qi exercise (lift the Qi up and fill it with the body is a form of La Qi). La means “pull” and / or “pull” the outer Qi to the desired place.

Description of Qi collecting exercises. La Qi can be used sitting or standing. While standing in the Wuji zhuang position, move your hands opposite your navel so that you place one hand almost touching the fingers of the other hand and they are arranged as if you were holding the ball between your hands. Spread your arms from side to side (at the distance of the hand) and then return to the initial position (close-up of the hands). Repeat these movements. They are very simple, but remember that they are not moving only hands so engage the mind and body.

Making the opening of the palm, movements scroll the elbows, the upper part of the arms follows the intention of the mind to embrace the whole universe (you can visualize the sky). In turn, closing is conducted by the hands, the upper part of the arms follows the intention of the mind and pulls / attracts and condenses the outer Qi, from the Universe (blue sky) to a small space are located between the mutually similar hands.

La Qi movements, opening and closing are not performed with our hands alone. Movement is performed by a part of the body, which includes: shoulders, arms, elbows and hands as one (in the advanced version of the exercises, the movements pass from the Mingmen acupuncture point). After a period of La Qi practice, you will be able to feel between the hands opposing strength. When moving, you can feel the pull of your hands and prevent your hand from opening. During the closing movement, you can feel resistance preventing movement of the meeting by hand “closing”. It arises between the palms of absolute resistance resulting from the indicator that there is already enough concentrated energy.

In this way, the concentrated energy can be delivered to our body’s places that are weak (e.g., a weak organ, such as the pancreas when treating diabetes with Zhineng qigong), or you can power other people’s bodies with the intention that the body functions normally. (the intention with good information for our body or others is important). When we master this exercise to perfection, we do not need to focus on the place between the hands. We can immediately do La Qi in the place we need. For example, when we are working on someone’s shoulder. we can immediately place them between our hands (visualize that the shoulders are between our hands) and then do La Qi. The practice is to have the intention that the shoulder functions normally (it is healthy). When we open our hands, we think of the blue sky, when we close, we imagine concentrating the healing Qi between the palms that touch each other inside the shoulder, imagining that the shoulder does not exist. We call this using external Qi for healing. This is the “corporate exercise” of Zhineng Qigong.
