Standing meditation, a combination of three centers very quickly activates Qi in the body.
Exercise straight from the Shaolin monastery. It was a Gong that the candidates for the fighting monks practiced before being allowed to learn the next techniques.
Zhineng Qigong static methods are divided into standing, sitting and lying. The general characteristics are that after a few movements to activate Qi, we maintain a stationary posture. During exercise, the body is motionless, only our mind is active. The static method is that the body is stationary and only the mind of the exerciser is active. “Standing exercise, mixing three centers” is the fundamental method of Zhineng Qigong and consists mainly of a static part in which the body is stationary. However, it can be called both static and dynamic exercise.
We will briefly describe the activity of the mind. In this method, we focus mainly on the lower Dantien (navel area). In this exercise, you should have the intention that the mind transfer concentration from various parts of the body to the lower Dantien. The center of the head goes down, the center of the foot goes up, the center of the hand goes inside Dantien.
Zhan Zhuang should be exercised at least 30 minutes. That is how long the meridian energy cycle lasts.
This exercise is therefore called “mixing three centers” because of the concentration and mixing of these centers in lower Dantien. When we are beginners, you can immediately focus on the lower Dantien.
When we mix the centers in Dantien, we relax the mind intentions, calm down and stand relaxed. If it turns out that the mind’s intention is outside of Dantien, then connect and mix the centers again in lower Dantien.
Effects. This method quickly activates the Qi in the body, and the effects of strengthening the body are obvious. After a short period of exercise, you can feel a slight tremor, warmth in the body and between hands pulling and repulsion, as well as difficulty separating or closing the hands, etc. This method is not only for treatment, it is also a basic Gong, or martial arts training. It is a way to loosen the hip belt, pelvis and tailbone in moving Qigong in a short time. If we maintain the correct posture, automatic movements will not appear. However, slight swinging or trembling are signs of loosening the body, they are something other than automatic movements. However, the mind’s intention cannot be focused on rocking or trembling, otherwise the mind’s intention can emphasize the movements and this can make the movements automatic.
